Wisteria macrostachys
Kentucky Wisteria
Size: 20’
Exposure: Full Sun to
Shade
Flower: Purple
clusters in June
Our native wisteria rally alleviates the issues of excessive
vigor and unreliable floral displays associated with Chinese Wisteria. Kentucky Wisteria has smaller “trunks” and
does not put on 30’s of growth each season.
Typically the species is an alternate year bearer, meaning
it bloom every other year. The plant
these cuttings were taken from seems to flower every year. However, we will not verify this for several
years from now.
Whether the plant blooms annually or bi-annually, they
display is hard to rival in the gardening community.
